Martin qualified in 2006 and is currently a Team Leader Physiotherapist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He works jointly between Sports & Exercise Medicine and Hand Therapy departments. He leads the departments wrist rehabilitation and is passionate about exercise prescription and high-level rehabilitation of the upper quadrant. He is lead author of the Birmingham Wrist Instability Programme published in Hand Therapy in 2017 and has presented this work at Eurohand 2017 and BAHT conference in 2017. He has undertaken post graduate study in Upper Limb Trauma and Orthopaedics at Salford University and is currently completing his MSC in “Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy” at the University of Birmingham. Outside the NHS, Martin is owner of “Holmes Physiotherapy”, a private physiotherapy company committed to bring quality care locally. He has experience working within elite level sport including Great British Judo, Premier League Academy Football and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. Away from work, Martin enjoys spending his time with his young family, cinema, and sport.
